There are tennis courts in Phuket, and not hard to find. There are even some 4-star resorts with courts on their property available for guests to reserve and play.

Located in the far south of the island is the Phuket Sports & Tennis Club where they have courts to play on as well as facilities for other sports such as beach volleyball, petanque, croquet, ping pong, darts, badminton and fishing. They serve all your needs with a large selection of international food, drinks and big screen televisions for watching sporting events.

There are at least a dozen tennis clubs located across Phuket, from north to south, with more in the southern half of the island as there are far more people living in Phuket Town and Patong Beach than in the northern part.

The Phuket Lawn Tennis Club has outdoor courts, but don’t let the name fool you – these are not grass courts, they are hard surface courts.

The Tennis Club Academy at Thanyapura has received awards as the best tennis club in Asia, and also as one of the top fifty tennis resorts on the planet in a worldwide survey. Impressive, right? They have six competition level courts, flood lit for night play, and all enclosed in a large complex with roof. Pros are available for lessons. This academy is located close to the Phuket International Airport (HKT) in Northern Phuket.

Lastly, Le Meridian Phuket Beach Resort has four well-lit outdoor tennis courts for day or night use – open from 8 am. to 8:30 pm. You do not need be a hotel guest to use the courts, but fees do apply. If you need a hitting partner, that can be arranged. Please give a day’s notice or two, if possible. Two courts have AstroTurf surface, and two courts have a hard surface. These courts are located between Karon and Patong Beach, and are easy to find off the main road.
