Soi Bangla (Bangla Street) in Patong Beach, is the heart of Phuket Island’s night time action. In and around Patong Beach, you’ll find Thai bars, Australian-owned bars, bars from punters in the United Kingdom, Malaysian owned go-go bars (Soi Cowboy), and bars owned by expats from all over Europe, the USA, and Canada. It won’t be too difficult to find a bar you feel at home in.

Not only that, but away from the beach, as you go inland, we tell you what you can find close-by – like weightlifting gyms, viewpoints, fingernail and hair boutiques, massage, small convenience stores, and big malls or outlets.

Some people want a peaceful vacation just relaxing at the beach and reading books and sipping mineral water. Others want to shop until they drop, so they stay in Patong Beach and make a few trips over to Phuket Town for the malls. Still others would like to cram the most physical fitness they can fit into their short stay, so they book a room near a gym the Andaman Sea where they can have access to swimming and jogging up and down the beach. Then there’s the rest (and probably the majority!) – they want to eat great food, drink great drinks, and have a blast at night in Patong Beach. Many people don’t even leave the area of Patong because they find everything they could possibly want to do right there in Patong.
Beaches, dining, and shopping are probably the most sought-after activities in Phuket – and we cover them comprehensively in our guide – search it above, now!
Though we’ve lived on Phuket Island for years, we still feel as if we are on vacation, and we enjoy the same things you will want to enjoy during your short time here. We added a lot of information to our listings that you are not going to find elsewhere. We added some history, and we have the most up-to-date information online about most listings. Things change on a daily basis in Phuket, and we hear most of it through the grapevine as locals. We share this knowledge with you in our in-depth profiles of places, shops, and activities you’ll do during your stay.
Phuket probably has more things to do in a smaller land area than any other place in Thailand outside of Bangkok. Even so… this and surrounding islands have awesome natural beauty – some of the beaches here are routinely added to the “Best Beaches in the World” lists that pop-up on travel magazine covers a couple of times a year. There are quiet and secluded beaches where you can lay around and count crabs from your beach mat. There are beaches screaming with activity where you can ride a parasail (parachute), skis, wakeboard, jet ski, windsurfing board, kayak and banana boat, all in the same day. The amount of activity is up to you – and you can find everything you require in Phuket.
Phuket has beaches where you can be served your drinks and food at your umbrella-covered lounge chair without needing to move a step to go find it. There are beaches with excellent waves during certain times of year and beaches where you can let your three-year-old play in the very shallow surf. With supervision – of course! Phuket has beaches where you can eat on the beach all day and then walk up to a beach club and spend all night there. You could stay on a beach for 24-hours if you really wanted to. It’s probably not that safe, but people do it.
To use our Phuket Tourist Spot Directory, just click on either the Categories or Location drop-down menu and choose one from the long list of options within. When you choose “Patong Beach,” you’ll be shown all the Categories of things to do there on the other drop-down menu. It changes automatically to show you what you’re looking for. If you then choose massage, you’ll be shown all the massage places we’ve collected information about in Patong Beach. Each review shows address, map, phone number, and something interesting about the place. Some listings in the directory show more information than others because we are always growing our database by visiting as many of these places personally as we can.
We hope you bookmark this page and use it often – this is the only Phuket Directory you need for your vacation! Have a great vacation and enjoy your stay!
