Bang Pae Waterfall

Tourist Attraction Bang Pae, Phuket, Thailand

Bang Pae Waterfall in Bang Pae is just 19.9 km (or 26 minutes) away from Bismarcks Paradise Phuket luxury villas resort.

For those who love the outdoors, hiking and all things nature, we have the perfect place for you! Bang Pae Waterfall is everything a nature enthusiast is looking for. With it’s scenic hiking trails, abundance of local wildlife and perfect picnic spots this waterfall makes a ideal spot for the intrepid explorer.

Located within the Khao Phra Thaeo National Park on the Northeastern part of the island, this easy-to-get-to tourist attraction should be on every adventure seeker’s bucket list. Approximately 10 km from the heroines monument the drive alone is worth the trip.

The largest of the 3 main waterfalls in Phuket, the 10 meter tall waterfall is nestled in the heart of the jungle. With an easy to follow path that runs along the tiny river fed by the waterfall there are plenty of shady trees and little drop pools to cool off in along the way. While the hike isn’t as daunting as the Kathu Waterfall, it can get quite slippery during rainy season so we recommend wearing a decent pair of shoes.

Following the concrete reinforced path through the jungle you can hear the bellowing cries from the nearby Gibbon Rehabilitation Project. For those feeling a little extra adventurous you can hike to the nearby Tonsai Waterfall located in the same park. A guide can be hired to help ensure you make it there safe and sound.

There are many local birds that call Bang Pae Waterfall home as well as the rare white backed palm (kerriodoxa elegans) that is unique to Thailand. With various plateaus to stop and rest or just enjoy the scenery it’s easy to get lost in the beautiful surroundings of the waterfall.

The park itself offers a large parking lot with ample space, two restaurants at the entrance and an information center. There are also clean restroom facilities and a children’s play area. As mentioned above there are two waterfalls and the Gibbon Rehabilitation Project. There is a 200 baht entrance fee and a small fee for parking but with everything offered it is well worth the price.
