Nai Thorn Beach – This lovely little beach is located just south of Nai Thon Noi Beach, and north of Banana Beach on Phuket Island’s west coast. You won’t find Nai Thorn Beach on Google Maps, but we’ve tried to get it listed a number of times. Instead, you can look for the Andaman White Beach Resort which is right on the beach.
Access to Nai Thorn Beach is either through the forest if you can find a path, or through the resort mentioned, if you’re not shy about walking through. We don’t know if they’ll challenge you about using their resort as a public thoroughfare, but Nai Thorn Beach, like all beaches on the island (and in Thailand) are supposed to be public access. The easy way to access this beach if you’re not staying at the resort is to take a longtail boat around from another nearby beach.
Nai Thorn beach is about 300 meters (328 yards) long, and very wide – around 60 meters (66 yards). There is a lot of space here, and usually few people, you’ll probably only see guests staying at the resort. The sand and water are relatively free of rocks at Nai Thorn Beach and wading and swimming are comfortable here when the waves are small. In the tourist off-season, the waves pick up – especially during April and November. Do be careful of strong currents here during bigger waves.
Snorkeling is good around the south end of the point, with lots of rocks to attract fish and other marine life.
This is a rather remote location, with no shopping within walking distance. The nearest town to shop in is Bangtao Beach, a 10-minute drive south.
